TIME REALM
Time is one of the three modifier Realms. It cannot be used to ground an Art on its own, but must instead be used in conjunction with Actor, Fae, Nature, or Prop. Time allows the changeling to manipulate a cantrip in various ways, winding its Glamour through time in increasingly complex permutations.
NOTE: One cannot use more than one -type- of time effect in the same scene. It cannot extend the duration of a cantrip, and have that same cantrip under the effect of suspended sands or fateful trigger. In short, a cantrip can only use ONE level of Time Realm at a time. (It gets damn messy otherwise)

DO NOTE: Time Realm level â—‰â—‰â—‰ System II will serve most purposes for buffing self in a bind. No roll is even required. It's a quick action that throws up a 5 success buff for the mere cost of 1 temporary glamour, you can have as many of these 5 success buffs per scene as you have dots in time rank.

RANK ZERO : DEFAULT

Is the default duration of the Art.
â—‰     THREE FOLD

Triples the duration described in the ART, If the ART has an INSTANT duration, then this effect cannot be used. Just add time realm to the effect when it is cast. Note: Some individual cantrips can't have their duration changed.
◉◉     SUSPENDED SANDS

The cantrip’s effect is delayed, and will activate at a time of the player’s choosing (set when the cantrip is cast), up to a year and a day in the future.

Roll as normal, adding the time realm and playing the glamour cost. If successful the cantrip is delayed. This means the cantrip -must- be cast during a scene which involves the target. You can't delay an effect if you can't target the target. This is effectively a way to attack an enemy and run away, except you can attack the enemy without them knowing, take them out for dinner, go to their home for coffee, spend the night, wake up and leave a note on their nightstand and THEN have the effect go off. Only those who have sufficient magick sensing abilities will know they have been -marked- Characters can only have ONE instance of suspended sands active on them at any time.

This cannot be used on self or allies. (BUFFS are really the purview of fateful trigger)
◉◉◉     FATEFUL TRIGGER

Rather than being delayed by a set amount of time, the cantrip may be set to “hang” until a specified trigger occurs, set by the player.

Examples include “the next time a Kithain walks through the door,” “the next time Bill the Sluagh walks through the door,” or “the next time the door is opened.” The character must use the appropriate Realm or Realms for the target of the trigger.

SYSTEM I:

Set a condition on the target when cast, (see above)  rather than the cantrip going off at a fixed time, it goes off when the target meets conditions.

It therefore must be rolled in front of the target with the conditions -plainly- stated.   Do note: Characters may roll "Perception + Occult" to try to detect that the changeling has "Done Something" the difficulty is the changelings glamour rank + highest level of the art rank used.

SYSTEM II :

At this level 1 Cantrip per Time Rank can be released with 5 successes per scene. This only applies to cantrips which -buff- the character or his allies (Defined by Scene Realm) . The Changeling must Spend 1 glamour to release the cantrip with five automatic successes. It can not be used for attacks (Cuz, you need to roll those!)
◉◉◉◉     BRIGHT ECHOS

After the cantrip ends, it automatically reactivates a second time. The second activation applies the cantrip’s effects as though it rolled only a single success, no matter how many successes the original cantrip generated. If the first use of the cantrip failed, so does its echo. Simply as stated before the cantrip activates a second time and scores one success against the same target if the first cantrip cast was successful. This requires no additional roll or glamour expenditure. All that is required for this to happen is the changeling needs to have this level of Time. Once Time â—‰â—‰â—‰â—‰ is purchased, this occurs on any cantrip that is successfully rolled. (can't be used on System II of Fateful Tigger therefore, because System II of fateful trigger is not rolled!)
◉◉◉◉◉     GLORIOUS RENEWAL

The Cantrip becomes seasonal and reactivates after being dormant. The specific circumstance for the Cantrip reactivating is dictated by the player, but must involve a significant marker (such as an equinox, eclipse, birthday, etc.) and there must be significantly more time between activations than the duration of the cantrip. NOTE: Any hung effect can be dispelled if it is known about, The tricky thing with hung effects is that a character can try to dispell it once per day. In short a character only has to successfully dispel an effect ONCE to cancel it, or fail -everytime- in order for it to go off as planned.

One should be careful in using hung effects with extremely long delays on characters. Only the Contract Art is successfully able to circumnavigate this.

As this is an Annual Renewal the targets of the cantrip must be present as targets when the original cantrip is cast , and they must witness the roll. This is a -seasonal- renewal as mentioned before. It can't be used on -every Sunday- or -every other month- it is a specific holiday or date that happens but once a year. And only ONE instance of Glorious Renewal can be used on that date. The benefit is that Glorious Renewal is -free- of Glamour Cost. However -fateful trigger type effects- cannot be used, -situational triggers- are always under the purview of fateful trigger  If there are no sentient targets involved in the cantrip then the cantrip successfully goes off at a specified and -significant- date with no "Glamour" Cost involved.

SEAT REALM
Seat, is one of the three modifier Realms. It cannot be used to ground an Art on its own, but must instead be used in conjunction with Actor, Fae, Nature, or Prop. Seat allows the changeling to manipulate a cantrip in various ways, winding its Glamour through a greater distance and deals with how -far- away a changeling can be from the casting.
Seat is constrained by some cantrips which require close up examination of a subject, in such cases the cantrips range cannot be modified.

NOTE: Seat does nothing to alter an AREA OF EFFECT, that is the purview of the SCENE realm.

Seat literally means how far the changeling can be from the target of the cantrip, or how far they may be from the -scene- (Note a lot of realms, such as prop, actor, scene take their cues from theatrical terms, Seat is no exception )
Seat can target characters on television however the Actor realm requires relationship with the televised or monitored character.

This only applies to cantrips directed via SEAT
ACTOR â—‰ is required to target a character who is your best friend via SEAT ◉◉◉◉ or ◉◉◉◉◉
ACTOR ◉◉ Is required to target a person who is not an enemy or close friend but you have had social interactions with via SEAT ◉◉◉◉ or ◉◉◉◉◉
ACTOR ◉◉◉ is required to target a familiar face via SEAT ◉◉◉◉ or ◉◉◉◉◉
ACTOR ◉◉◉◉ is required to target a dire enemy via SEAT ◉◉◉◉ or ◉◉◉◉◉
ACTOR ◉◉◉◉◉ is require to target a complete random stranger in a crowd via SEAT ◉◉◉◉ or ◉◉◉◉◉

SEAT RANKING

RANK ZERO : DEFAULT

The range of the cantrip is either mentioned within the cantrip itself or it is up to 20 meters within direct unobstructed line of sight of the changeling.
â—‰ FRONT ROW

The Default range of the cantrip is doubled Line of sight required
◉◉ STALLS

The Default range of the cantrip is tripled line of sight required
◉◉◉ GALLERY

The Default range of the cantrip is quadrupled. Line of sight required.
◉◉◉◉ ROYAL BOX

The cantrip can now be directed via -live- transmission of an image of the subject of the realm. Static photo images and pre-recorded images do not work for this purpose, mainly this works on live images viewed on security monitors or live television broadcasts or video conferencing (Individuals in warded areas or different planes of the umbra cannot be targeted)  cantrips rolled through Royal Box add +2 to their casting difficulty or  +2 is added to the targets defence.

Note: Royal box has "Actor" requirements when used against non fae characters.

Note II: SOOTHSAY ◉◉◉ TATTLETALE provides means of scrying through objects or other characters. Normally a changeling can only project perception based cantrips through this medium.  Royal box allows ANY cantrip to be projected at targets through soothsay.
◉◉◉◉◉ IN THE GODS

The cantrip can be directed at a target anywhere within the dreaming or the autumn world so long as the changeling has a -sample- of the target realm.

Note this sample must be a part of the -individual- target of the cantrip, such as "Hair " of a particular individual or a leaf from an individual tree, or a fragment of a particular object. This cantrip cannot be directed at creatures who are not on the same plane of reality as the caster, for example if the changeling is not in the dreaming, it cannot affect a person in the dreaming, and vice versa. Also those within warded locations or other areas of the umbra cannot be affected.

Cantrips directed through In The Gods add  +4  to the cantrip difficulty  or give the target  +4 defence against the cantrip.

REALMS

Taken alone, the Arts of the Kithain are powerful yet inchoate, great storms of potential energy which cannot be brought to heel or directed into the world. It is solely through the province of the Realms that changelings are able to master the old magic of the Dreaming, or to deploy any but the rudest and most innate miracles of Glamour.

ALL OF THE USE OF REALMS IS COVERED UNDER THE CASTING PAGE.

THIS PAGE IS FOR INFORMATIVE PURPOSES ONLY.

There are seven realms which fall into two categories.

  • Targeting realms which denote -which- type of thing may be targeted by an Art. These realms are Actor, Prop, Nature, Fae

  • Modifier realms which affect the duration and area of effect of a realm, or the range of a realm these realms are Time, Scene & Seat

  • How these realms are used are detailed under CASTING, this page serves for informational purposes.

  • All Realms are ranked â—‰ to â—‰â—‰â—‰â—‰â—‰ this ranking is used primarily for determining the strength of your changelings ability to affect different types of target.

  • Modifier realms have additional special abilities unlocked at certain rankings, again this is covered on the casting page.

TARGETING REALMS

TARGETING REALMS

  • Always required

  • Always needed to affect the various target types.

  • Though many targeting realms maybe used via scene, only ONE is used for the roll. Generally roll the highest targeting realm in such cases and roll as for an AOE.

ACTOR

This Realm grants power over the folk of the Autumn World. Its purview encompasses ordinary people, of course, but also the enchanted, Kinain, mages, and even Prodigals such as vampires and werewolves (though not the Kithain and their fae brethren). Each â—‰ of actor allows the caster to target characters (non fae) and add +1 to the cantrip roll per rank.

PROP

Prop is the Realm governing objects of all sorts, from table knives to telescopes. Props are worked objects not falling into the parameters of the Nature Realm, including all refined metals, plastics, and compound materials. Prop can never, under any circumstances, affect objects made of cold iron, nor can it wrest control of -magical- items without the use of the Fae realm in addition to prop.

Each â—‰ of Prop allows the caster to target non chimerical objects  and add +1 to the cantrip roll per rank when used in such a way

NATURE

This Realm encompasses the raw elements and awesome forces of nature. It is defined by a classical and holistic understanding of natural phenomena and substances, rather than a clinical one.

Each â—‰ of Nature  allows the caster to target animals, weather, plants and add +1 to the cantrip roll per rank when used in such a way

Nature â—‰â—‰â—‰â—‰ allows for targeting of supernatural (mages, werewolves, Pooka) in animal forms. Though only "ANIMAL" form, not other forms. Hispo is a dire wolf, it may be an extinct animal, but is still an animal. Crinos is "not" an animal.

FAE

Fae deals with other beings of the Dreaming. To affect other Changelings, the Noble Sidhe, Adhene, Chimera, or even controlling Changeling magic itself all fall under the realm of Fae. Each â—‰ of Fae  allows the caster to target chimerical objects and characters and areas of the dreaming and add +1 to the cantrip roll per rank when used in such a way.

Fae â—‰â—‰â—‰â—‰â—‰ is useful for targeting other supernatural spells (or objects if combined with Prop)

MODIFIER REALMS

MODIFIER REALMS

  • Optional use

  • Modifies aspects of a changeling spell.

SCENE REALM

  • Scene is one of three modifier Realms. It cannot be used to ground an Art on its own, but must instead be used in conjunction with Actor, Fae, Nature, or Prop. Scene expands the effects of the Realm it modifies to encompass as many relevant targets as the changeling desires within the described zone — for example, if Scene were coupled with Actor ◉◉◉◉, a cantrip could be used upon all of the changeling’s enemies within the area; if it were combined with Prop ◉◉◉◉, the changeling might enchant all of the cars in a parking lot.

  • NOTE: Scenes cannot be targets. Scenes merely describe the area of effect. The "Scene" cannot be manipulated by Prop or Nature, only the things -within- it can. An office tower is an area of effect, the office tower cannot be yeeted with hopscotch + prop, but the props -within- the tower may. Additionally as a final point of contention, A building is -not- considered a prop by any of the Prop Realm ranks and buildings fall under the purview of SCENE, which means they are -not- targets, but areas of effect.

  • If targeting multiple Realm types within a scene, 1 point of extra glamour must be spent per additional realm added via the use of scene. This means if you were to use PROP and ACTOR and NATURE to make -everything- of that type within a scene "Jump" with hopscotch, you would need to pay 2 extra glamour for having 2 additional realms.
